About the Speaker
Brittany Roberts is a former teacher and the founder of Traveling Teachers.
In her 20s, she studied Parks, Recreation and Tourism management - and enjoyed every seasonal job under the sun! She used these seasonal jobs and opportunities to explore the United States.
Before leaving the classroom in May of 2022, Brittany lived and taught on a reservation in northern Arizona for 5 years. She quickly discovered that the other teachers at her school did NOT care about her trips.
And while that was understandable, she just KNEW there had to be other teachers out there who were just as travel-obsessed.
When teachers in Facebook Groups started asking her how she found all of these cool job opportunities (i.e. driving a bus for a surf camp in Hawaii, leading hikes in the redwoods near San Francisco, and working at a colonial flower farm outside of D.C.!), she knew she had to blog about it.
When the questions kept coming about how she was able to travel so often for so little money, she started sharing more in a weekly live show, and through the Teachers Talk Travel Podcast.
This led to an amazing community of 4,000+ Traveling Teachers learning and sharing unique opportunities every day.
Since its inception years ago, Traveling Teachers LLC has grown to include several trips and meet-ups per year.
And we're proud to say we even hire teachers as freelancers so we can support their dreams!
This summit is another way we can serve, educate and inspire teachers to see more of the world for less.
